Performance „Evocation of Absent Landscapes”

Eine Beschwörung von Landschaften mit Stimme, Bewegung, Video und Klängen, die 11.000 km entfernt sind.

Mit der Installation „Evocation of Absent Landscapes“ setzt Claudia Bosse ihr Projekt „haunted landscape/s“ mit theatercombinat in DAS WEISSE HAUS fort. Der Raum verwandelt sich in eine sensorische Umgebung, mit Videoarbeiten und Materialien wie Salz, Schlamm, Haare und Wolle.
Damit schafft Claudia Bosse einen „dritten Raum“, in dem sich menschliche und nicht-menschliche Perspektiven auf Landschaften überschneiden. Die Besucher:innen sind eingeladen, zersplitterte, lebende und hybride Ökologien zu erleben.
Die Installation wird während ihrer gesamten Laufzeit durch Performances und Interventionen aktiviert.
In der Performance „Evocation of Absent Landscapes“ erinnert Claudia Bosse Begegnungen mit indonesischen Landschaften, wie z.B. den von Menschen verursachten Schlammvulkan in Sidoarjo, der ein Dorf teilweise verschlang, oder die Minen auf dem aktiven Vulkan Merapi, die den heiligen Berg laufend verwunden. Sie ruft Landschaften auf, die 11 000 km entfernt sind, und beschreibt mit Stimme und Körper ihre Verletzungen, Topographien, Texturen und Materialitäten. Sie lässt die abwesenden Landschaften auf die anwesende Landschaft der Installation treffen, die mit den Sounds von Günther Auer um die akustische Dimension erweitert wird.
Die Performance wurde 2026 in Weld in Stockholm uraufgeführt.

An evocation of landscapes 11 000 km away, using voice, movement, video and sound.

With the installation ‘Evocation of Absent Landscapes’, Claudia Bosse continues her ‘haunted landscape/s’ project with theatercombinat at DAS WEISSE HAUS. The space is transformed into a sensory environment featuring video works and materials such as salt, mud, hair and wool.

Bosse opens up a ‘third space’ where human and non-human perspectives on landscape intersect. Visitors are invited to experience fractured, living and hybrid ecologies.

The installation will be activated throughout its duration through performances and interventions.

In the activation “Evocation of Absent Landscapes”, Claudia Bosse recalls encounters with Indonesian landscapes, such as the humanmade mud volcano in Sidoarjo, wich partially devoured a village, or the mines on the active volcano Merapi, which continually wound the sacred mountain. She summons landscapes 11 000 kilometres away, giving voice and bodily form to their injuries, topographies, textures, and materialities. The absent landscapes enter a dialog with the present landscape of the installation, which is expanded into the sonic dimension through the sounds of Günther Auer.
